Learn what’s involved in providing a loving home for a foster child by attending this informative meeting. Love Acadiana in partnership with Our Savior’s Church–Opelousas is hosting this meeting to identify, inspire and equip families in the Christian community to foster.
The Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) estimates that in the Lafayette Region alone, an additional 150 families are needed to provide safe and caring homes for foster children. Maintaining the number of current foster families is also critical. We believe that both of these goals are attainable if the Church is educated about the need, and given the opportunity to respond.
Come and learn what’s required and see if God may be calling you to foster. You could bring hope, healing and the love of Jesus to a child. If you choose to pursue fostering, this meeting will count as your “orientation,” required as a first step by DCFS.
