What a great 1st Saturday! In addition to serving hot meals at St. Joseph Diner all day, volunteers took on a major project at Spirit & Truth Church on Simcoe St., to support their growing Unhoused Ministry.
Pastors Alonzo and Ollie Frank needed help to repurpose rooms for food and cooking supplies, as they were quickly outgrowing the space they had designated for that ministry. Volunteers assembled shelving and cabinets, installed attic access, repaired a roof, sealed walls, moved refrigerators and freezers, sorted supplies, purged, packed, laughed and prayed. It was a very productive day!
Spirit & Truth offers hot meals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for those not in shelters. (Dinners in the shelters are covered by St. Joseph Diner.) They pray, share the gospel, and minister personally to everyone who shows up, every chance they get.
