Pastors, church leaders and national disaster ministries came together June 12 for a Disaster Response Relational Network (DRRN) roundtable in Lafayette. We were honored to host the first regional such event organized by ServeSource, a leader in disaster response networking and support among Christian ministries. Love Acadiana has attended the group’s national roundtable for years, and Acadiana has already benefited from the connections and resources we’ve gained there. Representatives from Acadiana churches and missions including The Bayou, Our Savior’s Church, Catholic Charities Disaster Response, Spirit & Truth Church, Destiny of Faith, churches from “down the bayou” where we responded to Hurricane Ida, and more, were able to connect, collaborate and get invigorated to be the hands and feet of Jesus after crises.
We were honored to host representatives from Eight Days of Hope, Samaritan’s Purse, Stormwise and Mercy Chefs who flew in to share their expertise, and build relationships, too.
Thanks to Love Acadiana volunteers who spent days preparing, setting up for and helping to host the event. (You really are the best on the planet!)
