“Welcome Home” Serve Day

Join us as we prepare an entire apartment building to welcome families making a fresh start! The Outreach Center has renovated this six-unit building in Lafayette to create a place for families transitioning from homelessness. We get the honor of making it home for them. We’ll assemble beds, hang pictures on the walls, position furniture and rugs, stock bathrooms and kitchen cabinets, and bless the homes for the families whose lives will be changed there. What an honor! Let’s take these units from blank-slate to blessed in one day!

Details:

• Saturday, Feb. 28, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. (check in opens at 7:30)
• Meet at the apartments: 901 Lamar Street, Lafayette
• Park at the United Way Early Childhood center approx. 1.5 blocks away at 1515 Jefferson Street. A golf cart will shuttle you to the apartments if you prefer not to walk there.
• Lunch will be provided by Raising Cane’s.
• Wear your Love Acadiana t-shirt (one will be provided if you don’t have one).
• If you haven’t signed your 2026 waiver yet, do so here.
