Love Acadiana participated in Hope Starts Here at Bethany Church in Baton Rouge on October 9. The event, organized by Focus on the Family, Louisiana Family Forum and DCFS brought together church and state leaders to address foster care in Louisiana and explore ways to strengthen support for children and families through the Church. Participants also packed 1500 overnight bags for children coming into care to have something of their own. It included a teddy bear for snuggling and a Bible for hope, assurance, and everything else. Pastors, leaders, former foster children, and foster parents shared testimonies that ignited a fire in attendees to find solutions and help for struggling families and children.
