First Saturday Serve: Showing Love to Foster Families
This month, inspired by James 1:27, our 1st Saturday Serve focused on caring for foster children and the amazing families who welcome them. Volunteers created “Family Night” baskets, packed with games and treats to help foster families enjoy quality time together. While we were at it, we packed nearly 200 gift bags for DCFS employees who work tirelessly to try to improve outcomes for the children.
We also helped a family make home repairs needed for their foster care certification, preparing them to welcome a child into a safe, loving environment.
It was a privilege to support these families who give so much to our community’s children. Thank you to everyone who served and showed the love of Jesus in tangible ways!
