When Tropical Storm Arthur brought devastating flooding to Avoyelles Parish in June, Love Acadiana was honored to respond In the name of Jesus alongside local churches and ministry partners to help families begin the long road to recovery.
Within days, we deployed two 26-foot trailers loaded with commercial dehumidifiers and high-powered fans to help homeowners start drying out flood-damaged houses. Our volunteers also spent long days in the summer heat mucking out homes, removing water-soaked drywall, flooring, furniture and debris so families could take the first steps toward rebuilding.
Thanks to the incredible compassion and generosity of our volunteers, donors, and partners, families received critical assistance when they needed it most. By working together with Eight Days of Hope, we were able to extend our reach and serve even more homeowners across the affected communities.
Disaster response is about more than cleaning out homes—it’s about restoring hope. Every volunteer who showed up, every donor who gave, and every prayer that was offered reminded these families that they were not alone. Together, we had the privilege of bringing practical help and the love of Jesus to our neighbors during one of the most challenging seasons of their lives.
To everyone who served, gave, prayed, and partnered with us—thank you. Your willingness to respond is making a lasting difference in Avoyelles Parish.
